# consistent markdown rendering

 * Markdown appears to render beautifully when I view a post. But there are times
   when rendering does not occur.
 * There are 2 places where I need the rendering to happen:
 * – in search results
    – in the /blog view
 * in both case the content is unrendered, but visiting the post produces rendered
   markdown.
 * In some cases, it seems theme dependent.
 * twenty-seventeen seems the best in that it displays rendered content for the /
   blog view, but it also fails on search results.
 * Is there something obvious I’m missing?

 * I think I’ll answer my own question. The posts I imported came from a Drupal 
   site. None of them had an excerpt. The excerpts can be generated by some themes,
   but that’s not necessarily consistent.
 * After I installed the [advanced excerpts plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/advanced-excerpt/)
   all of my rendering issues went away.
 * I’m not 100% clear on why.
