• Paypal donations do not ever change out of the Pending state. After 2 days I am changing them myself. What’s the deal? It’s really taking a toll on the momentum for my organization’s fund drive.

    I checked this box and nothing changed: If donations are not getting marked as complete, then check this box. This forces the site to use a slightly less secure method of verifying donations.

    This problem is usually caused by PayPal being unable to effectively communicate with your website. It sounds like you already went to Donations > Settings > Payment Gateways and checked the box for “Disable PayPal IPN Verification”.

    If this does not resolve the issue, you will need to login to your PayPal account, go to Profile > My Selling Tools > Instant Payment Notification and make sure that IPN is enabled. If PayPal requires you set a URL, then use:

    http://yoursite.com/?give-listener=IPN

    If neither of these solutions work, then you will need to check and confirm that your PayPal account has a verified email address. If the address in your PayPal account is not verified, payments will not automatically be marked as complete.

    Another possible cause would be conflicts of currency. If PayPal is receiving payments in $USD, but you have Give’s currency set to something other than $USD, transactions may not be completed properly.

    If the problem still persists, the last option is then to ensure you do not have any plugins, such as “Bad Behavior”, installed. These kind of anti-spam plugins typically block the PayPal communication. If you do have one of these plugins installed, try deactivating it, do a test purchase, and then see if your payment is marked as complete.

    I have emailed back and forth with support numerous times. The communication is challenging. I tried everything you said in your previous post above, still doesn’t move from pending status. What do you recommend next? Thnx

    I understand support can be challenging. Perhaps contacting them via telephone and requesting “Merchant Services” or “Merchant Integrations” – I’ve had better luck with those support folks. There may be an issue with your IP being black listed from IPN or something other than all the avenues we’ve troubleshooted here.
