 * I have three WordPress websites, all hosted by streamline.net. Because I travel
   I am often on a mobile connection but all three suffer from constant internal
   server errors. One blog is ten years old with many hundreds of blog entries,
   one is a new database with just a few entries. The third is my wife’s and she
   can’t even update plugins as the internal server error message keeps popping
   up. We’re at our wit’s end.
 * How can I establish what is causing this problem? I keep lodging support tickets
   with Streamline who come back and tell us there is nothing wrong with the service,
   but I have read elsewhere that they are not very well regarded as a host company.
 * Could the problem actually be that we’re on a bad internet connection, and that
   the connection keeps dropping out? We certainly don’t have problems with other
   websites, though I suspect many use their own server whereas we’re on a shared
   server. If it is the connection, what is the technical reason for it dropping
   out?
 * Or could it be a crappy shared server that simply isn’t dedicating enough bandwidth
   to us?
 * Any pointers gratefully received.

 * The first pointer is to list the sites for us to run some tests on. Without,
   we can be of little assistance (based on the [information provided](http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Include_as_much_information_as_possible)).

 * My apologies, school-boy error.
 * [http://www.followtheboat.com](http://www.followtheboat.com) – the one with many
   hundreds of entries
 * [http://www.jamiefurlongphotography.com](http://www.jamiefurlongphotography.com)–
   new database
 * [http://www.lizcleere.com](http://www.lizcleere.com) – my wife’s blog, quite
   small
 * We’ve just had confirmation that users of my wife’s site have also experienced
   this internal server error problem, so that puts paid to the idea that it’s just
   our dodgy connection.

 * A review of this seems to be in order (some items are taking a very long time
   on each)

 * Interesting links, thanks for those. Unfortunately the image size issue is something
   outside my control as that is a theme I use, but I can draw this to their attention.
 * What the report doesn’t show me is how many people are actually failing to get
   the pages to load up. I have it on good authority that my wife’s users are not
   able to access her website.
 * One thing that has occured is my host company admitting our websites sit on a
   server running php 5.2 and not 5.4. They will be upgrading these once I’ve backed
   them up but I don’t understand why I have to chase them. Surely they should be
   doing this as a matter of course?
