# Container / Banner Width Discrepancy

 * When choosing a banner image for the 2016 theme WordPress said:
 * “Suggested image dimensions: 1200 x 280”
 * but all content below it is narrower, maybe 800 pixels.
 * I believe I’ve successfully removed the right hand sidebar. I think the narrower
   content is because of a container. Is it easy (or indeed advisable) to make this
   wider?

 * Do not edit the Twenty Sixteen theme. It is the current default WordPress theme
   and having access to an original, unedited, copy of the theme is vital in many
   situations. First [create a child theme for your changes](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes).
   Or install a [custom CSS plugin](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search.php?q=custom+css).
