I’m confused on the whole content restriction process based on what someone purchases.

I will have 2 one time payment products, and then an option for a membership monthly recurring payment option once I launch my new sales funnel.

they are all video training courses hosted on different pages of my site. I’m tying to figure out when someone buys the 1st one time product(which is assigned a group name), what creates the login area that the customer would use to be able create user name and password? I have woocommerce plugin, but am thinking about using stripe or paypal and just creating pay buttons from each of these.

how does groups talk to stripe or paypal to make sure the customer only sees what they purchase?

Also, if someone buys both one time offer products, how does the groups/stripe or groups/woocommerce etc etc know to allow access to both products? If they are purchased at different times, will the customer need to create a new username and password for each product? This is where I’m getting confused.

How do all these things work together for my specific needs?

basically what I’m trying to do is make sure the customer can keep the same user name and password, but have the restrictions to content change depending on what they purchase at any given time no matter if its one time payments or monthly.

    any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi scottwiggins17,

For your case i think it’s better to have a look at premium plugins Groups for WooCommerce and WooCommerce Subscriptions.
Basically when the customer buys your product, they will actually buy a membership. This membership will grant access to the content you choose for this membership. If you also use WooCommerce Subscriptions this membership can become a subscription with recurring payments.

    Hopes this helps you.

    Kind regards,
    George

    Hey @scottwiggins17

In addition to what @gtsiokos suggested which would work if you want to base your solution on WooCommerce, you could also simply use Groups PayPal – this would allow you to offer one time payments or subscriptions based directly on PayPal. This lets you create those memberships and relate them to groups that grant access to your content, for example protected pages that host the video courses, and you could set up different groups for each set of courses. If you’d like to have a look, here’s the Documentation for Groups PayPal.

    Cheers
