content uploading issues

    I can’t upload any pictures/content with the content uploader. I don’t know why it won’t, I get an error message saying:
    “Unable to create directory /home/lapereau/public_html/telescope/wp-content/uploads/2008/02. Is its parent directory writable by the server?”

    I don’t see why it isn’t working and I don’t know where it got “lapereau” from- that was my old domain name and I installed wordpress AFTER I changed my domain name. what do I do? Please help. I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but I don’t know what to do.
