Control Navigation not displaying properly

I can only see the Control Navigation when I reduce the browser window or if I am on a mobile device (smartphone)

In these views there is a HUGE gap between the bottom of the slideshow and the content directly below the slideshow.

I could use a hand troublshooting/fixing this..
