 * I’m still having trouble controlling the widths of customized page elements.
   I looked at the css code for Decode and tried to follow the same settings. I
   wanted the page width for my ‘white page’ customisation to follow the width of
   the .site-header, but though I have used the same settings and applied them to.
   author and .post, I have not been able to control .post. Author seems to be at
   least have a max-width fixed, but not .post, either on the blog page or the individual
   post page.
 * This is what I have in my custom css:
    [@media](https://wordpress.org/support/users/media/)
   only screen and (min-width:68.5em) {.author, .post {max-width:70em}}
 * [@media](https://wordpress.org/support/users/media/) only screen and (min-width:
   50em){.article., site-main., .post {width:80%}}
 * site is say-write.com (language services, testimonials and home are pages, and
   blog are posts.

 * Can anyone help with this?
 * Scott – do you want to do some paid work to fix this? I recognise there is a
   limit to free support.

 * Sorry for missing this question earlier.
    Are you still having this problem?
   I took a look at your site and the width of the container around posts seems
   to be the same as the site header.

 * Hi Scott
 * Thanks for getting back to me on this. Yes, still having the problem, but with
   blog posts, not pages. See the BLOG sections of the site. say-write.com/blog-

 * This is basically a problem on phones and smaller tablets.
 * I start to be confused now. This happens because I try to implement an old style
   on a modern theme, I can see. Perhaps I have to think my background and color
   schemes and ditch these .article and .post modifications so that the theme can
   behave normally.

 * It’s fixed Scott. I have some ‘old’ code in post-specific custom CSS that I had
   forgotten about.
