    I’m sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing. Although I see that you have not opened a thread here in WP.org support forums so we could assist you. We do need a backup log for us to be able to investigate the issue further.

    From your description though, it is a common issue where the server stops the UpdraftPlus process because the server has already reached the resources limit. We have FAQ here and it contains some ways on how to reduce resource usage on your server.

    Hi,

    Just to add; resumptions happen if your webserver killed off the backup process. These are a feature; many other backup plugins just make one attempt, then die (at the time I originally coded them, all other backup plugins did that ). But if UD is killed, it resumes (I’m not sure what the state of play is today, but UD pioneered that feature).

    So, it’s not UD “getting stuck” – rather, based on what you describe, your web hosting company has a policy to kill off processes that run for more than a few seconds.
