# Crash during comments.php editing

 * The title says it all. During editing of the comments.php file the entire blog
   crashed.
 * When calling up the index or other pages the screen remains blank and the source
   code is empty. I have checked the database and all tables are there and populated
   with the correct amount of data.
 * I ftp’d the original comments.php file and the problem did not clear. (the problem
   occured while saving a change in the file)
 * Any ideas, it is located [here](http://cranialcavity.net/fullthrottle/wp/index.php).

 * Tried changing the theme – in the db you could do that?
 * Server error log have anything?
 * Any cache going on that needs disabling?

 * Not sure how to change theme from the DB, maybe you can point me in the right
   direction.
 * Here is the [pastebin file](http://pastebin.com/656776) of the error log. As 
   you can see it has a lot but it’s mostly Greek to me.
 * The line that reads “client denied by server…etc” has me thinking it’s time to
   contact my host, however there are two other blogs under this domain and they
   both operate normally.

 * This is really strange – the first error kicks off because this file does not
   exist:
    `/wp/wp-includes/cache.php` but that’s a core file which no-one touches.
   That seems to start tripping everything over.
 * It’s as if your site was being moved at the same time you were editing it – and
   you saved when some files had gone.
    It mentions that `fancytooltips.js` is not
   there too – but that too would not be deleted.
 * I would ask your host if they have done anything at all. they will first say 
   No (most do) but if you nudge them along they may say they were doing server 
   maintenance of some sort.
 * I would also download a new 2.0.2 and then do a sidebyside compare of files.
 * A lot of those errors will disappear if you can create a 403.shtml and a 404.
   shtml (regular .html just with an s thrown in for fun).
 * It’s a very odd error though..

 * Strange indeed. I checked the cache.php file and it is there, same for the fancy
   tooltips file.
 * I logged a ticket with my host about an hour ago. And your right their first 
   response will be “Who us!”
 * It’s happened before and in fact attempted to blame WP on two occasions. After
   they were pointed to a relavant thread here they put on their “sheepish grins”
   and corrected the problem.
