 * Hi everyone,
 * I’m actually trying to put a static HTML page as one of my subfolder but I just
   don’t know how.
 * I’ve gone through the support and documentation section but I can’t seem to find
   any related topic on it.
 * For example, my homepage URL is [http://www.mysite.com](http://www.mysite.com)

   I would like to create a subfolder ([http://www.mysite.com/subfolder](http://www.mysite.com/subfolder))
   using a static HTML page.
 * Are there any solutions for this? Really appreciate your help.
 * Thanks

 * Create the folder on your Web site with the static file in it. That address of
   a actual file will override a WordPress address, so even if some WP post/page
   ends up with the permalink mysite.com/subfolder, the real subfolder will take
   precedence.

 * hi sojweb,
 * should the new folder be in the wp-content or in the themes folder?
    i tried
   putting it in the public_html folder and type in the full path (www.mysite.com/
   filename.htm) but it didn’t work..
 * any advise on this?

 * When you say it didn’t work, what do you mean? Did you get any error message?
   If the file exists at the root of your Web site (next to, but not inside of, `
   wp-content` and the rest), you should be able to visit it as you described.

 * It comes up saying that the page could not be displayed. I’ve named the folder
   as “test”.
 * when i type in [http://www.shazas.com/test](http://www.shazas.com/test), it does
   not display the content of the subfolder. correct me if i’m wrong but i think
   it should view the html file inside that folder.
 * i’ve also tried typing the full path – [http://www.shazas.com/test.html](http://www.shazas.com/test.html)
   but i’m still prompted with the page could not be displayed 🙁

 * If there is an `index.html` file in that folder, that would usually be displayed.
   I’m a bit confused, though, about what you have: Is there a “test” directory
   with an HTML file inside of it? If so, the path should be [http://www.shazas.com/test/test.html](http://www.shazas.com/test/test.html)
