 * Hello,
 * So I’m trying to create a filter that is shown at the top of every categorie /
   results page. I’m not sure how to name this style of filter, basically each product
   has an attribut of “brass”, “silver” or “gold”.
 * I would like to have 4 buttons at the top of the page “all products” plus the
   3 metals. If you click “brass” for example only products with that attribute
   stay on the page.
 * I’ve looked through plugins, but they all seem to be quite elaborate…
 * Firstly how is this style of filter named ? And secondly, could anyone point
   me in the right direction how to set this up ?
 * I’m an experienced web designer (not a develloper) but I’m comfortable with shortcodes
   and functions.php
 * Thanks 🙂
    Sam

 * Hi [@sam1351](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sam1351/),
 * Could you please take a look at the [Product Filters for WooCommerce](https://woocommerce.com/products/product-filters/)
   extension to see if it meets your needs?
 * You can display filters on pages using shortcodes. You’ll find the steps to set
   it up in the extension’s [documentation](https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/product-filters).
 * If you want to try it, we have a 30-day refund policy. If the product doesn’t
   work the way you need or you think another product would work better, we are
   more than happy to provide a full refund.
 * You can read more about our refund policy on our website here: [http://woocommerce.com/refund-policy/](http://woocommerce.com/refund-policy/)

 * Thanks for your input Sunday, but really I’m looking for a non plugin solution.
   I only rely on plugins for “complicated” matters.
 * Anyhow, would you have an idea how this type of filter is named ?

 * So here is an example of exactly the type of filter I would like to set up :

 * Basically a series of buttons to refine the selection

 * Hi [@sam1351](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sam1351/)
 * I understand your goal. However, if you prefer not to use a plugin, you would
   need to custom-create such a feature.
 * I can recommend [the WooCommerce Developer Resources Portal](https://developer.woocommerce.com/)
   for resources on developing for WooCommerce.
 * You can also visit the [WooCommerce Facebook group](https://www.facebook.com/groups/advanced.woocommerce/)
   or the `#developers` channel of the [WooCommerce Community Slack](https://woocommerce.com/community-slack/).
