 * Hi
 * I have a problem with my WordPress blog. I can see the frontpage with all blog
   titles but when I attempt to open a post, I get the following:
 * _There has been a critical error on this website.Learn more about troubleshooting
   WordPress._
 * I had problems a few months ago trying to access revisions and a member suggested
   that I disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the
   problem went away, to enable them one by one to identify the source of my troubles.
 * I did this and this is the result.
 * I would appreciate some help pleaee
 * Many thanks
 * Brian

 * Errors like this are logged. Check the error log on your server. If you can’t
   find the log, please contact your host. Meantime, enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log
   and after an error, look at wp-content/debug.log to see if anything gets logged
   there. [https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/](https://wordpress.org/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/)
 * You can also try to disable plugin/theme:
    – Try [manually resetting your plugins](https://wordpress.org/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus)(
   no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one
   individually until you find the cause. – If that does not resolve the issue,
   access your server via [SFTP or FTP](https://wordpress.org/support/article/ftp-clients/),
   or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel, navigate to `/wp-content/
   themes/` and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force
   the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (
   theme functions can interfere like plugins).

 * Thanks for this.
 * From past experience, if I delve under the bonnet of wordpress, I just bugger
   everything up. I can just about manage to host the site and publish posts. Anything
   more is outside my competency.
 * Can you recommend a WP expert I can pay to set everything right again. I’m reluctant
   to go down this road as I’m not exactly made of money but see little choice.
 * Thanks again

 * If you can’t do the work yourself, you have the option of engaging a professional
   to assist you. If you want to follow that option and hire someone for this, then
   please try [http://jobs.wordpress.net/](http://jobs.wordpress.net/) and do not
   accept any hire or direct access offers posted to these forums. This topic has
