 * On some of my pages I am getting an issue where the autoptimize css cache file
is blank. I have tried a number of things to fix this all with no luck. It doesn’t
happen on every page, and it doesn’t happen to me when I am logged in.

   Firefox output of file: [http://i.imgur.com/fcER5VA.png](http://i.imgur.com/fcER5VA.png)
 * Here is a picture of my settings: [http://i.imgur.com/AxHDNxY.png](http://i.imgur.com/AxHDNxY.png)
 * I’ve tried with cloudflare enabled and disabled. I have tried uninstalling the
plugin and deleting it (The pages were still broken in the same way). I have
tried clearing the cache and manually deleting the cache folder. Rolled back
my database, theme, plugins, etc. all with no success.

 * looks like non-existent files (404; file not found) rather then empty files [@malacath](https://wordpress.org/support/users/malacath/).
this usually happens when autoptimized files have been removed from the cache-
directory (typically by clicking “save changes & empty cache” on AO’s settings-
page) but pages in your page cache (a plugin or your hosters caching reverse
proxy or …) still having pages in cache that refer to the old (deleted) autoptimized
CSS/ JS files. this is confirmed by the fact this doesn’t happen when logged
in, as in that case the page cache likely is inactive.
 * solution would be not to remove files from AO’s cache without also purging any
   page cache you might have.
 * hope this helps,
    frank

 * Had a similar situation in combination with WP Super Cache plugin, which deletes
everything in wp-content/cache/ in default setup, including whole autoptimize
   folder, [more here](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/prune_super_cache-deletes-too-much-data-due-to-default-cache-location/).
