 * Hi,
 * The option Optimize CSS and optimize javascript isn’t working for me. I still
   got the same amount of css/javascript files when I use Google insights tool.
   I also tried different settings but with no result.
 * This is my website [http://www.twopixels.nl](http://www.twopixels.nl)
    And my
   hosting is wpengine (not sure if that matters)
 * Regards,
 * Marcus

 * Avond Marcus;
    wpengine matters, as it has a staging area for all their customers.
   try disabling other plugins to try to determine if this is due to another plugin
   and/ or briefly switch themes. Once we know if this is the case, we can drill
   down to try to find a solution or a workaround.

 * Hoi Frank,
 * I disabled all the plugins and activated them one by one to see wich plugin causes
   the issue. But now it works!
 * But now the website loads much slower then before.
    When i disable autoptimize
   it loads just fine.
 * My site loads fine without autoptimize I just wanted to try to get a higher score
   in Google Insights.
 * Groet,

 * hmmm, on staging@wpengine? because that doesn’t have page caching, so that explains(
   part) of the slowdown. as soon as the page is in cache, it should fly really.
 * the other part is that you likely have page- (or request-)specific JS which means
   that AO has to recreate autoptimized files time and time again. have a look [at the FAQ](https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/faq/)
   and [this thread](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/solving-cache-size-the-easiest-way?replies=23)
   for possible solutions for that problem.
