 * hi there,
 * i’m trying to upload the free version wpcaasa.1.0.6.1.zip to wordpress 4.8 but
   it says the theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
 * any help would be much appreciated.

 * Hello,
 * this is not a theme. You need to install WPCasa through the Plugin Installer.
   Best would be to simply navigate to WP-Admin > Plugins > Install > Add New and
   enter WPCasa into the search field. You can then simply install it from there.
