 * Hi,
 * I’m using this plugin to create a user menu on mobile – the right panel on Boss
   theme is normally populated when Buddypress is activated but since I don’t use
   that, I can still add a menu there with WP Symposium.
 * I’m 90% there but I can’t get the css right to style the current selected menu
   link. I only have one custom menu link (along with the Gravater and Log Out)
   called My Account. I’ve changed the link colour to white and added an FA icon
   before it with:
 * /* WP Toolbar */
 * #wp-admin-bar-my-account-default li a {
    border-bottom: 1px solid #343538; color:#
   FFF; padding: 17px 25px 17px 25px; }
 * #wp-admin-bar-my-account-default li a:before {
    content: “\f007”; }
 * Do you know the correct css I need to add to style the link when it’s selected?
   I’m stumped! I would send a link but the site is under maintenance.
 * Thanks for your help,
    Paul.

 * Paul,
 * The selector should be something like `#wp-admin-bar-my-account-default:hover
   li a`…

 * Hi,
 * Unfortunately that doesn’t work. Or every other combination I can think of. How
   can I style the current link with this plugin?
 * Thanks,
    Paul.

 * I thought you wanted to style it by yourselves. From the Style tab, the last
   section deals with menu items hover/focus. If you define eg. a background colour
   on hover it should work. If it doesn’t I’m afraid I’d need to look at it using
   a debugging tool…

 * None of the style options have any effect on this theme – only WP admin do they
   take effect. The toolbar is only used on the front-end of the site to create
   the right slide panel – I can add items to this with WP Symposium but the style
   options don’t take effect on those items.
 * I basically need the one selector used to highlight the active menu item. I don’t
   know how I can share the site since it is under maintenance and I don’t want
   to publish an email address on here.

 * That’s finally understood, LOL. The theme author had kindly sent me a copy of
   BodyBoss, isn’t this the theme you use ? I will reinstall it later today and
   check for CSS selectors.

 * I’m using their newer theme – Boss – [http://www.buddyboss.com/product/boss-theme/](http://www.buddyboss.com/product/boss-theme/)
 * I can send a copy of that if required.

 * The BuddyBoss team has kindly sent me a copy of this theme to investigate this
   issue.
 * Simply put, this is only by chance that you are able to add menu items to that
   lateral menu using my plugin. The WP Toolbar itself is hidden, but since the
   theme’s user menu share the same id as the WP Toolbar’s, items can be added to
   the location “Add to the User Menu” by the plugin. Any other location selected
   from the plugin, it will not work.
 * As far as styling, I’ve had good results with this
 *     ```
       #wp-admin-bar-my-account div ul li a:hover {
       	color: #f90053;
       }
       ```
 * Hope this helps. Other than that, I fear I will be loosing a user here… 😉
 * There has been some discussion with my friend and colleague Louis as to what
   you exactly mean with “current”. The link corresponding to the current page,
   or the link being hovered by the mouse, in my answer above I assumed the latter.
   In case you mean the current page, and even though the theme overrides almost
   everything regarding WPST, I thought I should let you know we are looking to
   see if we can come up with something for you.
 * This is for the currently selected page. You’ll see the styling set in the theme
   for this already if you open the left panel from any page – the current link
   has the highlight colour applied and a darker background. I appreciate you the
   extra effort you’re putting in 🙂 If there’s no clean fix I’ll enable the customizer
   option to show ‘titlebar’ menu links in the ‘buddypanel’ instead (left panel
   on mobile). I’m just looking for consistency, and it looks better to use both
   panels.
 * You could give a try to the following. It works for us, except for the buddypress
   elements which are a different CSS – but you stated you don’t use BP.
 *     ```
       #mobile-menu li.current-menu-item a,
       #mobile-menu li.current-menu-item a:before,
       #wp-admin-bar-my-account-default li.active a {
           color: #f90053 !Important;
       }
       ```

 * The Important is needed for the #mobile-menu part, as the color seems overridden
   by the theme. You probably don’t need that actually, I only provide it for completeness.
   The Important does _not_ seem necessary for the My Account part, but YMMV as
   it might depend on how you load that CSS.

 * Hi guys,
 * I see how you’re styling the mobile menus there, unfortunately the my account
   link styling has no effect for me at all. I might have to switch to a theme which
   actually can be used without Buddypress, and doesn’t require additional plugins
   to use it’s functionality.
 * Thanks,
    Paul.
