Hello @syzygist
The custom experts of this theme will be displayed on the single page at the top. Can you please see on your single page. For displaying that on the blog page, you need to customize the blog page code.
Thank you
Seriously??! A magazine theme that doesn’t support custom excerpts on archive pages? That makes no sense.
Custom excerpts are an essential feature for a post-focused theme. Putting them only in the single post page turns them into subtitles, not excerpts.
Where custom excerpts are crucial is on the page where readers use them to select a post they want to read from a list, namely blog, category, and search results pages.
People should not have to edit a magazine theme to get that feature.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
We will consider this on the updates and on new theme.
Thank you
Hi @syzygist,
Would you please confirm if you have reached to Customize>Theme Options>Global Settings and find excerpt setting to select option between trimmed content and default excerpt for the posts archive to achieve the desired output?
Thanks
Ah, OK – changing “Widget Excerpt Mode” from “Trimmed Content” to “Default Excerpt” did enable custom excerpts. But you really need to change the labeling on that. “Widget Excerpt” does not sound like it has anything to do with Posts. And “Default Excerpt” already has a meaning in WordPress, which is the first 55 words of a post.
This would be much clearer if you called it “Post Excerpt Mode” and added some explanation of what the different options mean. For example:
Choose “Default Excerpt” to display a custom excerpt you have created in the Excerpt box of Edit Post. Choose “Trimmed Excerpt” to display the first few words of your post.
