Custom Language File

Hello,

I’ve created my own custom translation and I would like to make it upgrade safe. In the source code it loads language files from the plugins /languages/ directory. Is there anywhere else I can install the language files?

I’ve tried putting them in wp-content/languages/mytranslation-en_US.po/.mo

However the files are not being loaded. I am loading language files for other plugins from this location without an issue.

Any help on this would be great.
