# Custom Post Type Transfer

 * I have two sites: one in development and one live. There is a custom post type
   on the live site that I am trying to transfer to the development site. This post
   type contains hundreds of entries with information and images attached.
 * Every time I try transferring it to the development site, all the posts port 
   over, but the content (namely, the images attached) do not. This is a huge issue
   for my site as I need all this content transferred properly.
 * From reading a few past threads, it appears that images / media only ports over
   when you export everything from a site (not just an individual post type). I’m
   not looking to export / import everything – I just need that one type.
 * Is there any way around this or any viable solution? I tried a few plugins that
   were supposed to help preserve the images and transfer them over, but they did
   not seem to help. Obviously, because I’m dealing with hundreds of images here,
   I also do not want to bring all the images over manually.
 * Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

 * The guide explains how to **transfer images** when exporting/importing **partial
   content** like **custom post types** from one site to another.
 * Please make sure to **back up** your site, **especially** the **database**, **
   before** making any **changes** according to that guide.
