 * Would like to insert some custom text boxes in my default post. what is the easy
   way to do it. I’ve tride some custom post editors/creators, but can’t figure 
   out.

 * That can be accomplished with custom fields. You can code those from scratch,
   but there is a fantastic plugin [Advanced Custom Fields](http://www.advancedcustomfields.com/)
   that makes it easy. The plugin’s website has very thorough documentation to help
   you get started.
