 * My site: [http://dummy.nik-it.com/](http://dummy.nik-it.com/)
 * I’m trying to build my first custom theme. I was thinking of using a Twenty Ten
   Child theme as the basis- but thats not going well.
 * Here is what the designer mocked up in Photoshop. [http://www.nik-it.com/Downloads/WordPress%20TEST.png](http://www.nik-it.com/Downloads/WordPress%20TEST.png)

   I have all the pieces in slices.
 * I got the background and the header in- but can’t seem to get the sizing right.
   I don’t want the white on the right side.
 * I know I can do the area below header as widgets.
 * And the Testimonials block can be the sidebar and the latest projects the content
   area (any suggestions on how to make that match up)?
 * I’d appreciate any help!!

 * You can contact the designer for a larger picture. The image is large as it is
   in the design.

 * Where are the testimonials on your webpage?

 * I thought it needed to be bigger. What is the size for wordpress to make it fit?

 * I don’t understand your reference to WordPress. These are CSS issues. Try the
   [background-size](http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css3_pr_background-size.asp)
   property.

 * No where yet- this is just a test project so I can get the process of going from
   photoshop files from a designer to wordpress

 * I just tried that `background-size:80px 60px;`…would it go under body?

 * Under which ever element has a background image that you want sized differently.

 * Got it. Thanks for the tips.
 * Any suggestions on how to create the two middle boxes?

 * these are mostly formatting questions and not WordPress specific (the WordPress
   part is basically already done and working if you use a ready-made theme).
 * look at the html structure of the theme’s output, and style that accordingly;
   possibly with background images or, if the boxes need to have the same height,
   with ‘faux columns’ or similar…
 * what is your experience with turning photoshop into html?
 * are you working locally ( [http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Installing_WordPress_on_your_own_Computer](http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Installing_WordPress_on_your_own_Computer))
   or online?
