# Customize Admin Panel

 * I am sorry if this topic has been broached already, but I have not been able 
   to find information specificly relating to what I would like to do. What I would
   like to do is remove the advanced features from the admin panel IE. remove the
   discussion, Optional Excerpt, Trackback, etc and just leave the title field, 
   main text area and upload file stuff on an installation of WordPress… I have 
   set up a few sites for various people I know and I spend much time answering 
   question about these features which they never use.
 * I was wondering if anybody could tell me what file these functions/options are
   included in? I have spent a fair bit of time scanning through the code and trying
   various things but I have been unable to make the changes I want.
 * If anybody could point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

 * p.s. Use [i.e.](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Latin_phrases_%28F%E2%80%93O%29#I),
   not IE so as not to confuse with another [IE](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Explorer).
