# Customize Email Error Notification

 * I am wondering if I can add an action to when the there’s an error in sending
   an email.
 * I currently get an email like: “5.1.1 Recipient address rejected: User unknown”
 * But I was hoping to add an action in functions.php to do something if this happens?

 * I hope you are doing well.
 * You can already choose to receive notifications whenever your email is not delivered
   by using a feature in our plugin. You can access the notification tab in the 
   Post SMTP settings. You have a variety of options.
    1. When your email cannot be delivered, an email will be sent to an admin email
       address.
    2. You can set up Slack or Pushover to get notifications for failed emails there.
       To receive the notification on your sim, you can also use Twilio. Additionally,
       the Chrome browser has a feature that allows you to get notifications for failed
       emails.
 * If you want to create customized settings, you can use this hook. ‘post_smtp_on_failed’
   is a valid action hook to use.
