# Customize Export Settings

 * Dear aam Community,
 * I am using the free version of Advanced Access Manager and I would like to export
   the AAM settings, without any role & capabilities data. I see the message “To
   learn more about customizing exported data, refer to the “How Import/Export feature
   works” article.”, but I cannot find any relevant article in the documentation.
 * Can you provide me some information on how to customize the exported data?
 * I would honestly preferred if there was a way to do it inside the plugin Export
   Settings menu and not having to manually edit the exported .json file.
