# Customizing a Theme

 * Hi. Maybe the question will be really amateur but I want to learn. Can we customize
   the theme via VS Code if we download a theme from ThemeForest? I want to learn
   because the theme’s developer is disappeared!

 * If the theme is not already responsive, consider getting a new theme! There’s
   a lot of moving parts. Responsive != faster.

 * Not every theme is licensed the same way. Themeforest themes could have restrictions
   on its use or modification.
    All the themes from the WP repository are licensed
   compatibly with the GPL, so they can be freely changed, copied, redistributed,
   or even sold.
