 * Hello everybody,
 * I am a webdesigner for few years, while working on frontend in Html / CSS, javscript,
   flash, recently i started some basic concepts of PHP, but still being a true
   beginner in programming.
    Recently a client asked me for a site in wordpress,
   and the layout would be completely personalized and fairly simple, but he doesn
   ´t want to give an image of being just another blog. I attached here some pictures
   of the layout approved and wonder if with my knowledge i can edit the layout
   and follow a similar form, either by getting through an existing theme or editing
   CSS.
 * This site would have a home button that would combine the latest posts in the
   various areas of the same site, as much as separate areas as photos, videos or
   blog. Would i have to use the multisite function for this structure ?
 * What would more advanced users recommend?
 * Grateful for your attention

 * Probably the best way to do that is to find a theme that has close to what you
   want in terms of layout and/or functionality. You can then create[ custom templates](http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates)
   to add additional page layouts.
 * You’ll definitely want to use a Child Theme for customizing an existing theme:
   [http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes](http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes)
   That way your changes won’t be lost when the theme is updated.
 * You could also consider a bare-bones theme such as:
 * [http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/toolbox](http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/toolbox)

   [http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/blankslate](http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/blankslate)
 * This might also be helpful:

 * No, multisite is totally different – it creates a network of separate sites –
   which are run off one installation of WordPress core.

 * Really appreciate your help!
    I´ll start exploring custom templates and themes
   then, to find one that fits my needs.
 * thank you
