# Data base question

 * Hi All new to all this; just trying to get my head around Word Press.
 * I have installed Word Press and a Data Base.
 * Can anyone tell me:-
 * When content is added say photos; are those photos and content automatically 
   saved in the data base; are the fields created by Word Press or do I have to 
   make the fields in the Date Base first.

 * Not images, but all of your content (posts, pages, comments, custom fields, terms,
   navigation menus and custom posts) are stored in the DB

 * So where are my images stored, just on my hosting account; Do I need to make 
   an Images folder?

 * you need to create a new database if you have not already created one on the 
   server. Then, the wordpress will populate it.

 * However, you cannot upload images via FTP to this folder and expect them to appear
   in your Media Library. They have to be uploaded via the WordPress Add media interface
   in the dashboard.

 * So helpful in fact that I’m starting to get it; well a little bit.
 * I had another problem; I installed a widget but could not find it.
 * So from your replies, i thought, could there be an answer in the forum; so did
   a search and found the answer.
