 * As I’m from the EU, these states are crazy about data privacy as you know. Especially
   Germany, France and UK.
 * What if someone posts his credit cart, patient data, sensible law case data,
   child data, etc.?
 * the de/en-cryption itself isn’t complicated … [http://www.andrew-kirkpatrick.com/2013/01/aes-encryption-with-php-256-bit-using-iv/](http://www.andrew-kirkpatrick.com/2013/01/aes-encryption-with-php-256-bit-using-iv/)
 * For sure, you can secure the connection with SSL. But the saved data:
    – is there
   any data encryption function available? – if not: is there a way to manipulate(
   encrypt) the submitted data before it gets saved to the database and b) vice
   versa … to manipulate (decrypt) it before it will be read by the plugin?

 * Hi SimonSov,
 * We did some research, but did not find a easy and cheap way.
 * Listed are some links we found, which might be useful to you.

 * As also mentioned by WooCommerce, most requirements of PCI-DSS are beyond the
   scope of WordPress and WooCommerce – instead falling into the area of hosting
   and business policies/best practice for the website owner to abide by.But cheap,
   shared hosts are unlikely to support PCI compliance.
