Database connected to different domain

I tried to set up a test server to play around with the design of wordpress. I installed the newest version and then followed the wp-admin/install.php and used the wp-config.php file from my live site.

My old site now has template files showing from the test site, but still using the database??

How do I connect the server with the old site design??

Please help
