# Database connection

 * I have gone through the whole WordPress installation process up to Step 5: Run
   and Install the Script. When I do this, this error message comes up:
 * Error establishing a database connection
 * This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.
   php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at mysql.mywritingroom.
   com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.
 * Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
    Are you sure that you
   have typed the correct hostname? Are you sure that the database server is running?
 * I have checked and double checked that I have the correct username, password 
   and host name. I have even done the whole process again on another computer with
   the same error message coming up at step 5. Does anyone have any suggestions?

 * Check with your hosts. Sometimes the database credentials are not the same as
   the credentials for your host’s control panel.
