# database connection issue

 * I’m installing my 10th wordpress and I’m using the ACP to try and add themes 
   and plugins…
 * When i try to install a theme i get …
 * “To perform the requested action, WordPress needs to access to your web server.
   Please enter your FTP credentials to proceed.”
 * This is the first time I’ve encountered this message and i’m unsure why it is
   asking for the ftp info. Even if i supply the info the process fails. On every
   other install the theme has just installed when i click install. I guess i need
   to adjust permissions somewhere but i’m unsure where to start.

 * well, this time the install process didn’t freeze but i get this msg
 * “Downloading install package from http ://wordpress.org/extend/themes/download/.
   1.0.8.zip…
 * Unpacking the package…
 * Could not create directory. …

 * I installed the theme using ftp and activated it…
    Now when i try to add a new
   custom header image via the installed theme i get this message…
 * “Upload Error: The uploaded file could not be moved to /home/heavense/public_html/
   wedding-chapel/wp-content/uploads.”
 * I’ve set all permissions along that path… after heavense to 777
    I don’t have
   access to “/home/heavense/” permissions. So i’m assuming i actually HAVE to talk
   to the hosting company and have them change permissions to “/home/heavense/”?

 * I worked my way through all the paths and finally figured out the correct permissions
   settings. Phew.
