Hi I’m using Godaddy hosting. When I tried to deploy my new site using duplicator, I checked following steps twice,

    1. Manually Created database with all privileges enabled.
    2. Username and pass are checked to be correct
    3. Test connection shows success.
    4. Running deployment for few minutes and then following error shows up,

    “server code: 200
    status: OK
    response:
    INSTALL ERROR!
    DATABASE CREATION FAILURE!
Unable to create database “newsite_db”. Check to make sure the user has “Create” privileges. Some hosts will restrict creation of a database only through the cpanel. Try creating the database manually to proceed with installation.”

    Any solution?

    Thanks!

  • Hey Zeus,

You can’t normally can not use the ‘Create Database’ radio button option on shared/budget hosts setups as they don’t have that enabled. You will need to create an empty database and then check the radio button ‘Remove All Tables’

    Cheers~

Thanks man! It works fine! but after all steps successfully completed, I got another problem, it seems style.css got broken and also this string character ” Â ” occurs here and there in posts and contents!

    Hey Zeus,

I just added this to the FAQ page:

    -> Browse to: http://lifeinthegrid.com/duplicator-faq
-> Find section: “3. Troubleshoot=> How can I fix strange characters?”

    Hope that helps!
