 * Our website gives sometimes a database error.
The website is part of a multisite.
We had a problem before that a lot of images got duplicated. This caused a lot
of pressure on the database I think.
 * So I was trying to clean up the database.
I installed the plugin: Advanced DB
   Cleaner.
 * See this screencast: [https://somup.com/c0VnoBwNwe](https://somup.com/c0VnDZwNyb)
 * Are there things I can savely delete?
 * We sadly dont have a good backup service for the database.
 * Also see this topic: [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/database-error-while-loading-media-library/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/database-error-while-loading-media-library/)

 * I will not recommend deleting anything unless you have a full and valid backup
   of your database.
 * Once you have a backup (that you can restore if something goes wrong), you can
clean up your “orphaned post meta”, I see you have so many of them. But before
cleaning them, make sure to click on the “black eye” next to them to see exactly
what those orphaned items are (a small investigation should be always done before
   deleting anything).

 * I cleaned it up but the backend is still very slow and we sometimes getting a
database error. The frontend is faster than before.

 * I think you should conduct additional research to identify the real source of
the problem. It is possible that the issue could be related to either your WordPress
installation or your server itself. First, check your log files to see if any
errors are present. Then, you can deactivate your plugins/themes one by one to
see if the issue is related to one of them…
