# Database Error at root url – SQL syntax error

 * The install went without a hitch, but now my site gives SQL
    syntax errors at
   the root URL:
 * WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near ‘.* FROM
   wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND (post_type = ‘attachment’) ORDER BY post_date ‘ at line
   1]
    SELECT SQL_CALC_FOUND_ROWS wp_posts.* FROM wp_posts WHERE 1=1 AND (post_type
   = ‘attachment’) ORDER BY post_date DESC LIMIT 0, 10
 * WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax near ‘()’ at 
   line 1]
    SELECT FOUND_ROWS()
 * I get the same error when I visit the admin page Manage->Posts.
 * On this page, it goes away when I select something other than “All”
    for categories.
 * What’s up with that?
 * My info:
    mysql 3.23.58 php 4.3.11
