# Database Error – Trying to remove malware

 * Site was compromised, now I’m still getting “SQL Server Gone Away” errors (see
   full error that is received below in the gist). Page loads below where the error
   is displayed.

 * Looking for some assistance if you guys can point me in the right direction. 
   Tried disabling all plugins, switching themes, etc. Looking at debug.log is useless
   as it’s just the same error as I get on the web page. Tried to run sucuri but
   it isn’t working as the site freezes once it’s loaded after the error.

 * It seems to only intermittently affect the front facing website, whereas the 
   copied/pasted SQL error ALWAYS loads right away when opening wp-admin.

   wp-cron, no effect yet, but I see what you mean, the query is full of references
   to cron / scheduled stuff.
 * I now see this below the main query error message:
