Last modified: August 31, 2022 --- # Database overhead. * Resolved [Sean](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sean-h/) * (@sean-h) * [3 years, 9 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/database-overhead-2/) * Hi there, * I have the ‘scheduled database maintenance’ toggle turned on, but the ManageWP dashboard is still reporting I have 1.3MB overhead, for several weeks now. 1.3MB is not a lot, but it (ManageWP) goes on to offer me the option of optimising the database. It’s not the actual table that’s empty, but the last column on the far right for overhead, for all tables. And at the bottom, a big fat zero for total overhead. The entire database in question is only 108MB, so nothing to worry about when it comes to total size. But 500MB+ overhead on one table and I actually might want to look into things a bit deeper. * If ManageWP is showing cached info I have no idea where such a cache is or how to clear it. I have also opened a ticket with them but they haven’t given me anything to go on, yet. Like me, I think they are also scratching their heads right now. They did suggest a caching plugin could be doing this only I have no idea how, or why it would do this, so I thought I’d take a chance and open this ticket. * But I don’t think I’ll be opening an official SG support ticket as it would seem this problem is not with the SG Optimiser plugin nor anything else at Siteground. The thing is, if I do open an official SG support ticket, the only ‘report’ from ManageWP is a number in a box on the main dashboard. I may well end up ignoring this as I have been because it now looks like it is in fact a non issue. Also, I finally put 2 and 2 together: SG Optimizer only performs database optimisations on MyISAM, but all my sites are using InnoDB. The reason being is I actually like to keep post revisions for more than a week, as we might be working on multiple posts at the same time, and right about the time we really need a post revision, the plugin has gone and done its job and deleted them all. Same goes for trash. I might have put something in there, and when I realise I shouldn’t have, again, the plugin goes and deletes it.
