 * I’m trying to add an interface where a member on my site can go and put in the
name of the food they ate and the database will come back with its number of
calories. (It’s more complicated than this with other queries but that’s basically
it.) Can this be done with the SQL database that’s already part of WordPress
with maybe a query or ?? Or will I need a separate database such as Access or??
 * I’ve searched everywhere to find the answer to this question but I can’t. I think
I’m just missing a simple point about how WP works but I’m not sure.
 * Thanks for your help,
    Dianne

 * Couldn’t they just look on the label?

 * Yes, they could. But I was trying to simplify the problem, so I’ll try to reword
my question. I know that I’m not making a lot of sense. Part of the problem is
that I don’t know how to ask the right question. I want to be able to have an
interface where the user can input a question and the database will return the
answer. I don’t know if the database giving the answer would be SQL because this
is a WordPress site or if it needs to be another database (such as Access or ??)
   which provides the answer.
 * I also don’t know how to get the information for the answers into the WordPress
database. If anybody can figure out what I’m talking about or at least explain
to me where I need to look to find information, I would be very appreciative.
I have been using WordPress for a long time but I think my brain has shorted
   on this problem.
