# Database sync not working

 * Hi, after the new update the api issue was resolved. However, the functionality
   that writes the products to the WP database is not working. I checked the db 
   and all the wp_wps tables are empty.

 * In version `4.0` of the plugin, the Shopify data is no longer synced into the
   custom database tables. Instead, the plugin will fetch the Shopify data on the
   front-end to ensure the content is always up-to-date.
 * Do you still need this data for something? There are workarounds.

   unfortunately the theme I’m working with relies on that data.
