# Database Tables Optimization

 * Hello, I have a question. I have two plugins on my website:
 * 1 – WP-Optimize – Clean, Compress, Cache
    2 – Database
 * Both have the function of optimizing database tables; I would like someone to
   tell me if they really do the same thing, or if the functions, despite being 
   tables optimization, operate differently.

 * WP Optimize runs the SQL query `"OPTIMIZE TABLE $table_name;"` to do so. It also
   does something about orphaned data and tables, but I’m not sure what. I’m unfamiliar
   with a “Database” plugin. In any case, I recommend asking in the dedicated plugin
   forums for each plugin where the devs and expert users there are in the best 
   place to accurately answer your question.
