Title: Database Update Required Last modified: August 19, 2016 --- # Database Update Required * [DeecoUK](https://wordpress.org/support/users/deecouk/) * (@deecouk) * [15 years, 1 month ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/database-update-required/) * Hi, * I am a Web Hosting Reseller and My host recently migrated my account to another Server as I requested it, but since this move I had problems with my WordPress. * I try to login administrator panel /wp-admin, but when I enter username and password, nothing happens when I press login and the page is automatically redirected to‘/ wp-login.php?redirect_to=…..’. * After this saga I backuped up my database using phpAdmin and themes and plugins folder and deleted all existing installations. After this I installed a fresh copy of WordPress using Softaculous and then upload my themes folder, everyhing went well until I imported my backup database to the new installation and I was prompted when navigating to ‘wp-admin’ the following message appeared: * ``` Database Update Required WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version. The update process may take a little while, so please be patient. Update WordPress Database ``` * So I clicked ‘Update WordPress Database’ and I receive the following message afterwards * ``` Update Complete Your WordPress database has been successfully updated! This method worked for me, but I believe it’s a temporary solution. Could you advise me on what to do next? I can not even activate plugins because the options are not saved.
