• WordPress noob, (sorry), know just enough to get in the weeds.

I got a back up of a friends old website. I made a folder on my webspace to install it into, folder name bbmoca. I loaded WP into bbmoca, that seems to be ok. I uploaded/replaced the WP_content folder thru FileZilla. That seems to be ok.

Now I am at the database part and I am stuck.

I uploaded the database (100MB), still has the file name backup.sql , into the bbmoca folder. I found in the wp_config file where you put the database name ( ‘i8773731_wp5’ ), username (same as db name), and password ( ‘Y.SMstYLCRSMkPgQlnx28’ ). And within the database file backup.sql, I see at the top the Host: 192.168.0.001 and Database: db8651844779 fields, followed by about 5000 references to wp_avr3xssd5c.

And now I don’t know what to do next.

What filename do I change backup.sql to?

Is it ok where it is in the root folder bbmoca ?

Do I change the Host address to mine?

What do I change the Database: db8651844779 field to ?

I assume i do a find and replace for the 5000 references to wp_avr3xssd5c within the database, but replace it with what?

I assume I change the password in the wp_config file, but where else? where is it defined or used?

I feel im so close and have worked my way up the hill using online info but I just don’t have enough understanding of databases yet to get thru this.

    Thanks Ty
