# “DataTables warning […]Cannot reinitialise DataTable” with Sorting plugins

 * Hi,
 * when activation the “TablePress Extension: Sorting plugins” (v1.2) I get the 
   error message: **DataTables warning: table id=tablepress-1 – Cannot reinitialise
   DataTable. For more information about this error, please see [https://datatables.net/tn/3](https://datatables.net/tn/3)**
   in the frontend, how can i fix this? Tablepress is latest version (v3.1.3)

 * It looks like the WP-Optimize plugin is somehow duplicating code in this case,
   but I’m not sure why.
 * Can you please clarify what you are trying to achieve with that TablePress Extension?

 * Hello Tobias,
 * the sorting isn’t working right without the plugin, just check it (e.g. sort 
   by “Preis”) now, I just have deactivated the sorting plugin.

 * ah, yes, now I see! I had missed that column before, sorry.
 * For this, using the Extension is indeed a good way. I then suggest to turn it
   on again and maybe check and adjust the settings of WP-Optimize (maybe it will
   even be enough to clear the cache or similar), to prevent it from embedding/loading
   JS code twice in the files that it creates.

 * YES!
 * it was the WP-Optimize minify function which broke this, i just added:
 * _/wp-content/plugins/tablepress-datatables-sorting-plugins/jquery.datatables.
   sorting-plugins.js_
 * to the exclusion list of javascript minifying and the problem is gone now, thanks
   for pointing me in the right direction 🙂
