 * Hi, I’m having an issue where I’m not sure if W3 Total Cache is working at all
   on my site. It appears to have successfully added caching rules to the htaccess
   file, but when I enable debug mode, nothing related to W3TC shows up on my pages
   code and tests like Pagespeed are still complaining about inadequate caching
   for static resources. I’ve tried uninstalling W3TC, deleting the plugin through
   the WP dashboard, deleting the drop-in files via FTP (under wp-content, I deleted
   these remaining files: cache folder, w3tc-config folder, db.php; advanced-cache.
   php and object-cache.php were already deleted when I deleted the plugin), and
   reinstalling the plugin. I have a multisite on the latest WP version, 6.3.2.

 * Hello [@kbarnett](https://wordpress.org/support/users/kbarnett/)
 * Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to help!
 * Can you please share the website URL so I can check this for you? It would be
   great if you could share this because I do not want to speculate and want to
   be accurate about what the issue may be.
 * Also, please provide more details about your hosting environment, and if those
   static elements that need to be cached are external resources or the files on
   your server.
 * If you have a multisite, let me know if the issue is with the main website or
   any of the subsites.
 * Thanks!

 * Hi, Marko, the site is [https://westmontlibrary.org](https://westmontlibrary.org)
 * I have object cache, page cache, and browser cache enabled in W3TC. Minify is
   disabled in the main W3TC settings but enabled through the Cloudflare extension.
 * After enabling the Cloudflare extension, it’s caching most things now (images
   and fonts on our server; we have some assets on our homepage pulled from elsewhere
   which I don’t expect to be cached), but I don’t understand why nothing shows
   up in debug mode? I guess I’ll leave it on for a bit so you can see yourself.
 * This is consistent across the main site and two subsites.
 * Thanks!

 * Hello [@kbarnett](https://wordpress.org/support/users/kbarnett/)
 * The Serve static assets with an efficient cache policy problem is related tot
   he fact that those images are not served from your website. Instead they are
   served from [https://wms.swanlibraries.net/](https://wms.swanlibraries.net/)
 * W3TC or any other plugin for that matter cannot add cache control or expires
   header to the files that are not on your server.
 * As for the debug, try disabling the HTML minify in the Cloudflare because it
   may be stripping the comments from the HTML.
 * Thanks!

 * Thanks, Marko, as stated I am aware it wouldn’t cache anything not on our server.
   But the good news is once I disabled minify in the actual Cloudflare dashboard
   on CF’s site it did show me the debug info. So that seems to have resolved the
   problem with debug and now I’m confident it’s actually working. Thank you for
   your help!
