here is the problem with using a number. If you have this question: 6.5 x 8.2 and you correctly answer 53.3 it says it is wrong and should be 53.30. Technically 53.3 or 53.30 is correct. Using a short text field is actually better because you can include both answers as accurate.
We have checked and noticed your mentioned case on our end. Based on this, yes, currently, you will need to make use of the Short Text question type rather than the Number question type.
We will make all the corresponding changes in this regard in the general update of the plugin and will let you know about it.
