 * Hello there,
 * I am very please with your plugin, but I was wondering if there is a way to decrease
   the amount of files in the cache?
 * For example, the wp-content/cache/asset-cleanup/_storage/_recent_items folder
   contains 637.720 files. And I don’t think it needs to be this much.
 * wp-content/cache/asset-cleanup/js/item contains about 1080 files.
 * How do I prevent these from forming, or how do I decrease the amount of files
   created by the plugin?

 * [@supervinnie41](https://wordpress.org/support/users/supervinnie41/) this should
   never happen! My apologies for this inconvenience! It looks like your website
   has something particular there related to some files, and Asset CleanUp. instead
   of storing the most recent 20 files (just an example), it stores thousands, apparently,
   hundreds of thousands of files. This is not right and is against the purpose
   of the plugin, which is meant to optimize a website and not leave so many files
   there (e.g., it’s also hard when you make a backup of the website and you decide
   to include the cache directory there).
 * Can you share with us via Dropbox or a similar service some of those files (e.
   g., you can archive 1000 of them in a ZIP file)? I want to analyze some of them.
   If you feel comfortable, you can also share with us your website’s URL. I might
   find the problem there as well by checking the HTML source.

 * [@supervinnie41](https://wordpress.org/support/users/supervinnie41/), the latest
   version of the plugin doesn’t use the “recent_items” directory anymore, but still,
   I suspect there’s something particular about some of the files that are loading
   there. Would you like to share the URL to your website? If you are not comfortable
   with that, perhaps you could let me know privately the URL: [https://www.gabelivan.com/contact](https://www.gabelivan.com/contact/)
