# decrease number of URL and Plugin tried to delete file XML then do nothing.

 * Yesterday it’s still ok but when I go to google webmaster tools to check(I did
   update), the number of URL decrease while I add some new posts and when I logined,
   trying to figure out what happened, Plugin notified me there had been an old 
   file and recommended me to delete it, I used the automatical delete function 
   right at the end of notification and after delete that old file, it did nothing
   but said this:
    The URL to your sitemap index file is: [http://turnthingson.com/sitemap.xml](http://turnthingson.com/sitemap.xml).
   Google was successfully notified about changes. Bing was successfully notified
   about changes.
 * But when I check that file, there is nothing there, 404 eror.
    Please help me.

 * This is the entire notification, I tried to upload backup files and it shows 
   up again:
 * There is still a sitemap.xml or sitemap.xml.gz file in your blog directory. Please
   delete them as no static files are used anymore or try to delete them automatically.
   
   The URL to your sitemap index file is: [http://turnthingson.com/sitemap.xml](http://turnthingson.com/sitemap.xml).
   Google was successfully notified about changes. Bing was successfully notified
   about changes.

 * [http://turnthingson.com/sitemap.xml](http://turnthingson.com/sitemap.xml) is
   still the sitemap in the old format, so it looks like it is still there. Can 
   you delete it (and also the .xml.gz) via FTP?
