It would be nice if we could create a ‘page’ and then select template ‘posts’ and add a shortcode or parameters and the posts would list as the same styling as the theme default posts list.

Anyone know if this is possible or an easy hook of how to implement?

Anything is possible given enough time and work 🙂

With that being said, this kind of functionality falls into theme territory. WordPress Popular Posts provides its own [wpp] shortcode so that part is already covered.

As for styling, if you’re familiar with HTML/CSS in general -or if you know someone who is- then this might help: Styling the Popular Posts list.

If you want to create a page template for your site then I recommend reading the official WordPress Theme Development documentation, particularly the Page Templates page if you’re using a “classic” (non-block based) WordPress theme.
