# Defender Plugin Constantly Deactivating

 * Has anyone had an issue with their Defender plugin deactivating constantly?
 * Sometimes i’ll go in, activate it and it will stay on. Other times i’ll activate
   it, then go back to plugins and it is deactivated again.
 * I know PHP 7.4 is the required version which can cause this to happen and the
   sites this is happening in ARE PHP 7.4 and higher.
 * Any advice would be appreciated!

 * Then wait for it to happen again and check the “Defender cron” menu item in your
   WordPress?
 * It happens when the site is using PHP 7.4 or higher but server cronjobs are being
   called using a different version.
