 * Hi there
 * I was having a slight issue with posting with what is probably a conflict with
   Subscribe2 plugin. When the post goes out and my emails are sent out to subscribers
   and it goes onto Mastodon, for a minute or 2, my site goes offline. It comes
   back fairly quickly, but I thought I could resolve it by putting the delay for
   Mastodon to 300 seconds. I tried today and basically it didn’t share at all. (
   I have now shared manually directly on Mastodon as I couldn’t work out how to
   reshare. I can disable the subscribe2 sending for a second send.)

 * Correction!
 * It did share, after all. I don’t know why Mastodon didn’t show it (I saw it from
   another profile), perhaps the mstdn.ca server was acting up or overwhelmed. I
   will keep the delay setting on, perhaps making it a bit shorter. Sorry to have
   caused confusion.

 * Could also be WordPress’ “cron” (i.e., scheduling) functionality, which isn’t…
   exact at all. Not by default, at least. So it is absolutely possible that you
   set a delay of 5 minutes and got, e.g., 10 minutes instead.
 * The site going down after publishing _could_ have to do with Mastodon. If you
   post a link (like, to your site), all these different Mastodon servers will fetch
   that link to try to generate a “preview card.” A caching plugin might help with
   that. But it could also be something else entirely.

 * That makes sense, Jan. Thanks. I can put up with a brief downtime, but I will
   try again, this time setting a delay of 60 seconds and see how it goes.
 * Cheers
 * Ellie
